Hello & Welcome!
My name is Libby Oelzen, certified ginger and lover of all things film. I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri. Currently, though I am based in Lawrence, KS pursing a degree in Film & Media Studies at KU. Rockchalk!
I’ve been a lover of stories for as long as I can remember. From staying up late to catch the next episode of Scooby Doo to ending D&D sessions in the early hours of the morning, I’m most content when my nose is in a book or my eyes are glued to a screen. More than anything, I love telling stories, and I’ve had the honor of pursuing that at KU.
In the past two years I have developed my skills as a producer, AD — and, most of all, a writer. Though my ultimate goal in life is to become a showrunner, I love writing in all forms. Whether you want someone to draft a screenplay or write some quality copy, I am happy to lend my pen.

Pillars of my creativity
community
Filmmaking is a team sport, and most people in this field are here because they are dedicated to the craft. My goal when I’m on set as a Producer or AD is to help facilitate a fun and efficient environment that allows cast and crew members to create a product they are proud of. As a writer, I understand that while I represent an important step in the creative process, mine is not the only perspective that matters in achieving the final vision. Part of the joy in filmmaking is collaborating with others to achieve something that you could not do on your own.
Dedication
Whatever the project, I always aim to put my best foot forward. I approach my work with a mindset of making the best use of mine and others time. While sleepless nights are never the goal, I am not afraid to be the first person to arrive and the last person to leave and greatly respect the importance of deadlines in writing.
Pursuit of Learning
One of the greatest benefits of film as an industry is its constant evolution. Creating is recreating, and I am unafraid of this process. Iteration in writing, scheduling, and budgeting are things that I am not only skilled in, but find to be deeply satisfying. It is this process of learning and adapting to new challenges where I am at my best.
